Rossina has earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and registered with the State of Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor (#LPC.0015630) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (#ACD.0001784).  She has received a National Certified Counselor endorsement (NCC #831693), and she is a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) that places an emphasis on employment development, reintegration, or adjustment issues that allow her to provide career facilitation to individuals experiencing career/life transitions.  

Rossina operates her private Mental Health Practice in Denver, CO and recently founded the “Therapist of Color Collaborative”, which currently has a membership of near 40 Therapists of Color.  Her career opportunities have led her to work for:  Denver Human Services, the Office of Congresswoman Diana DeGette, the Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as the Community Colleges System for the State of Colorado. She is a US Army Veteran having served from 1996 – 2003, culminating her military career with a combat tour in Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom I.  

In her work she operates from a humanistic perspective that encourages individuals to explore their feelings, thoughts, and emotions in relation to their individual life experiences.  Coupled with empathy and encouragement, individuals find they are better equipped to face adversities and uphold their victories.  Her areas of focus are individuals experiencing:  Veterans issues, homelessness, justice involvement, trauma, grief & loss, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and career/life transitions.  She believes that the human capacity can be an unstoppable force in creating an empowered and sustainable future that allows the individual to live more authentically.

I believe very deeply in the human capacity and our ability to transcend adversity.  When empowered our capacity for greatness is an unstoppable force! During our work together we will approach your life difficulties through a humanistic approach that integrates multiple counseling theories and modalities that are person centered and utilize your individual strengths to maximize your ability to garner the confidence to gain control over your motivations, behaviors, and the world around you. To be truly whole, we need balance in our personal lives and to exist within a place we can thrive. Without this, we find ourselves helpless and overwhelmed.
