Sarah is a Colorado native who was raised and nurtured by strong parents who faced many adversities, a Christ-centered church in the wholesome and often misjudged community of Montbello. Sarah’s diverse upbringing inspired her passion and drive to dive into community-based healing. Her primary goal in life is to provide therapeutic healing through the modalities of Animal Assisted Therapy and Art therapy as she continues her current education in the clinical mental health field.
She currently works and resides in Denver with her tiny human and fur baby. They fill her cup daily with love, joy, frustrations, and above all happiness; that she could imagine no other way. Sarah is a God-fearing woman who places her values in family, connection, community, protecting our planet, animal and environmental rights, and interpersonal relationships. She is hopeful to continue to build on the Therapists of Color’s foundation and aid in creating spaces for diverse communities with intention.
Sarah is an experienced communication and administrative professional with a background in community engagement, building relationships, client care management, and intake services. All with the goal of ensuring clients have an overall positive experience. Sarah has a passion for serving her community with dignity and respect no matter their background or walk in life.
I believe this life can be hard enough already, so why should have to do it alone? When we are supported and surrounded by communities or people who care the work that can be achieved through healing and growth is transformative. I know we are all capable of healing from past traumas or situations that have created barriers in our lives, and we do not have to be the product of situations. I hope humanity can continue to find community with one another and foster a love for mankind and the Earth's inhabitants.
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi
